One crayon. A world of possibilities.

Caran d’Ache Neocolor II™ transforms the familiar crayon into an exceptionally versatile artistic medium. Its soft, velvety texture lays down rich, vibrant colour that can be used directly for expressive dry work or transformed with water into fluid, painterly effects.

Apply the crayon directly to the surface, then introduce water with a brush to dissolve and move the pigment. Create washes, base layers, gradients, glazes and delicate watercolour effects, or combine dry and wet applications to build texture and depth.
The highly pigmented formula provides excellent covering power, while the smooth consistency makes Neocolor II effortless to layer, blend and manipulate. It can also be used for techniques including scraping, sgraffito, rubbing, monotype, ink-wash and rainbow effects.

Neocolor II™ works across an unusually broad range of surfaces, including paper, cardboard, glass, wood, leather, fabric and stone, making it an excellent choice for artists who like to experiment beyond traditional watercolour.

With 84 colours in the complete range, artists can select individual shades to expand an existing palette, replace a favourite colour or build a collection colour by colour.

Made and developed in Switzerland, Neocolor II™ combines Caran d’Ache's colour expertise with an intuitive medium designed to encourage experimentation.
